We’re writing today to provide information about important consultations taking place, which have significant bearing on our community. Each of these consultations are open to the public, and we want to have many people from our neighborhood contributing to the discussion as possible.
These consultations involve school closures and re-locations, as well as the location of the new hospital site. We invite you to take a few minutes to read about it in this email, and then to get involved. We’ve provided you with links and info below.
SCHOOL CLOSURES & RE-LOCATIONS
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is proposing a number of school closures and re-locations, with some scenarios that would impact schools within our community. This is a critical matter that will have an impact on students, families, and our neighbourhoods, and so we hope that as many stakeholders as possible get involved.
The OCDSB has launched a multi-phase consultation process, including an Online Community Engagement & Discussion, as well as a Public Meetings. Parents, students, and other stakeholders are invited to participate in both.
The Online Community Engagement & Discussion phase consists of three stages: the Share stage, the Star stage, and the Discover stage. The Sharestage, in which participants are asked to answer three open-ended questions, ends October 9.
Please take a moment to register and participate in the first stage as soon as possible. Click here and then click the blue "Share Your Thoughts" button to register for online participation.
The Public Meetings phase will include one meeting for our district. The Western Area Public Meeting will take place on October 27, from 7:00pm - 9:00pm, at Sir Robert Borden High School. The meeting is open to all who are interested. For more information click here.
It's more than a community building.
