2018 TACA Youth Softball and T-Ball

The 2018 Trend Arlington Softball and T-Ball program allows for our community's kids to have fun and learn a few skills in a non-competitive environment.  This is a development program that will teach players to catch, throw, hit and introduce the rules of play….FUNdamentals!

T-BALL (3 - 6 year olds): May 7 - June 25

Time: Mondays from 6pm - 7pm (except May 21
Field: "Space Park" off Cramer / Canfield

SOFTBALL (7 - 14 year olds): May 5 - June 23

Time: Saturdays from 10am - 12pm 10-noon (except May 19)
Field: Trend Arlington Park at 50 Bellman Drive

Registration fees: $50 per kid, or $45 early-bird discount if registered before April 13. Online registration is now open.

Payment by CASH or CHEQUE. All registrations and payments must be complete by April 27. A service charge of $25 will be applied to NSF cheques. Make cheques payable to "Trend Arlington Community Association" and put "T-Ball / Softball" in the subject/note line.

VOLUNTEER POSTING - COORDINATOR: Are you a good organizer? Do you like sports? Do you want to help support this important youth sports program in Trend Arlington? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and capable volunteer to help as T-Ball / Softball Program Coordinator. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. We're ​looking for a Program Coordinator to help manage this year’s T-Ball / Softball program, which runs from early May to late June, with registration and coordination activity to begin in mid-March.

This is a part-time, short-term position that you can work when it suits your schedule. Members of the TACA Executive Committee are available to assist.

Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with previous year’s registrants via email
  • Collect registrations and registration fees, and remit those to TACA
  • Prepare the purchase of materials and gear, with Coaches
  • Work with the City of Ottawa to coordinate the use of softball fields
  • Communicate with parents and coaches about schedules
  • Help oversee program budget with TACA Executive
  • Provide periodic reports to TACA on progress of the program

The Coordinator wouldn't be alone in this project. TACA members are available to mentor and assist you!

We're ​looking for Coaches to help run this year’s T-Ball / Softball program, which runs from early May to late June. This opportunity is also available to high-school students looking for volunteer hours!

This is a part-time, short-term position that follows a set schedule. The T-Ball program (3 – 6 year olds) takes place Monday evenings from 6pm – 7pm. The Softball program (7 – 14 year olds) takes place Saturday mornings from 10am – 12pm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coaching regular practices
  • Storing and transporting equipment
  • Prepare the purchase of materials and gear, with Coordinator
  • Obtain a Police Background Check (TACA will cover costs)
  • Provide periodic reports to TACA on progress of the program

Former coaches will be available to mentor and assist you to ensure a smooth transition and get the program running.  

 

Nepean Soccer

The Nepean City Soccer Club is a community based volunteer organization dedicated to the presentation and promotion of soccer in West Ottawa. Serving ages 4 and up, the Nepean City Soccer Club supports over 1800 players in 14 House League divisions, 23 youth competitive teams and 10 adult teams through association with the Lynwood Soccer Club. Our fields are located in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada south of Baseline Road, north of Hunt Club Drive, west of Woodroffe Avenue through Bells Corners. This covers the communities of Centrepointe, Craig Henry, Trend-Arlington, Qualicum, Pinecrest, Lynnwood, Bells Corners and Crystal Beach. Our goal, as a community club, is to provide development opportunities in playing, coaching and refereeing.
