What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a meditative experience where you are “bathed” in sound waves. The sound waves are produced by various healing instruments but the waves don't necessarily have a catchy melody or rhythm like you may have experienced at a concert or listening to the radio. Instead, they are a carefully selected wash of instruments with notable resonance and overtones aiming to help ease listeners into relaxation and help balance their energy. Let your mind drift away to the beautiful sounds of crystal singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, bells, shakers, drum, gong, and more. Sound baths can be a great way to relieve stress and tension. They create the perfect environment for deep healing of the body, mind, & spirit! The evening will start with a guided meditation to help ease you into relaxation.
What to bring?
Yoga mat, pillow, blanket, and anything else you need to be cozy and comfortable when lying down. If you are less mobile, you are welcome to bring a folding chair or stool to sit on.

Gentle yoga with Tiffany
Kick off 2025 with a gentle yoga class to take care of your mind and body!
This will be an indoor session at the Trend Arlingon Community Centre at 50 Bellman Drive.
Register to let us know you’re coming:
The class type: A gentle flow class which is accessible for beginners and intermediate students. It starts off slowly as we turn inwards with meditation, with a flow of one movement leading into the other, and then a cool down session of holding poses for longer, followed by Savasana.
The cost: $10 per person. We will be accepting e-transfers to treasurer@trendarlington.ca or cash when you arrive
What to bring: A yoga mat and water
The teacher: The class will be led by Tiffany Wallace. Tiffany became aware of the habitual and unconscious muscle tensing that we store in different areas of our bodies. Moment by moment, we may habitually tense these muscles without knowing. Tiffany invites you to use playful and intuitive movement as we flow through sequences that relax shoulders and open hips. By noticing what is naturally happening within our bodies, we can start to bring awareness to the areas in which we store our emotions, and as a result bringing more mobility and ease into the entire body. It wasn't until Tiffany learned to truly let go by becoming a student of yoga and therapy where she was able to notice significant relief. Tiffany hopes to create a space where you can relax your shoulders and hips, and open your heart.
Please show up 10 minutes early to pay, set up and chat with your neighbours! If you show up late, please just quietly join the class.

We will explore all these themes through tapping into our senses with soothing sound.

Shakespeare in the park - Macbeth
It's the return of a Company of Fools, Ottawa's favourite professional Shakespeare troupe, who are bringing their dazzling and theatrical production to Trend-Arlington Park on July 11th at 7:00pm.
The performance takes place in the park behind the school. Walking is encouraged, but parking is available at the community centre or Knoxdale Public School parking lot.
This is fantastic family fun for all ages. Bring a lawn chair, some mosquito spray, and a donation of $20 per family/household.
About the Show
Picture this: Macbeth, a Scottish thane with big dreams, gets a prophecy from some mysterious witches that he’s destined to be king. Instead of brushing it off like a sensible person, he dives headfirst into his vaulting ambition, with his equally ambitious wife, Lady Macbeth, egging him on.
Cue some sneaky plotting, a sprinkle of murder, and a dash of guilt-induced hallucinations, and you’ve got yourself a classic Shakespearean recipe for disaster. A cautionary tale with a side of sword fights and supernatural spookiness, our Macbeth is a theatrical rollercoaster that’ll leave you questioning whether it’s really worth it to stab your way to the top.
